Jesus said to his disciples: "Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward.
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone
were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
"Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if salt becomes insipid, with what will you restore its flavor? Keep salt in yourselves and you will have peace with one another."
나를 믿는 이 작은 이들 가운데 하나라도 죄짓게 하는 자는, 연자매를 목에 걸고 바다에 던져지는 편이 오히려 낫다. (마르 9,42)
내가 죄를 짓지 않는 것도 중요하지만, 이웃을 죄 짓게 하지 않는 것도 중요합니다.
예수님, 항상 구원의 길 알려 주시고 가르쳐 주셔서 감사합니다!
전능하신 하느님, 저희가 언제나 하느님의 뜻을 새기고 말과 행동으로 실천하게 하소서.
악의 요소를 단호하게 끊어 내고 분리시키지 않으면, 우리의 신앙생활이 소모적이고 무모한 시간 낭비가 될 수 있음을 경고하는 것입니다.
