매일미사 연중 제33주일 (세계 가난한 이의 날)

mt 25:14-30
jesus told his disciples this parable: "a man going on a journey called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them. to one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one to each according to his ability. then he went away. immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them, and made another five. likewise, the one who received two made another two. but the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground
and buried his master's money. "after a long time the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. the one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. he said, 'master, you gave me five talents. see, i have made five more.’ his master said to him, 'well done, my good and faithful servant. since you were faithful in small matters, i will give you great responsibilities. come, share your master's joy.’ then the one who had received two talents also came forward and said, 'master, you gave me two talents. see, i have made two more.' his master said to him, 'well done, my good and faithful servant. since you were faithful in small matters, i will give you great responsibilities. come, share your master's joy.’ then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said, 'master, i knew you were a demanding person, harvesting where you did not plant and gathering where you did not scatter; so out of fear i went off and buried your talent in the ground. here it is back.' his master said to him in reply, 'you wicked, lazy servant! so you knew that i harvest where i did not plant and gather where i did not scatter? should you not then have put my money in the bank so that i could have got it back with interest on my return? now then! take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. for to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. and throw this useless servant into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.'"

네가 작은 일에 성실하였으니 이제 내가 너에게 많은 일을 맡기겠다. (마태 25,23)

제 손으로 즐거이 일한다. (잠언 31,13)

맑은 정신으로 깨어 있도록 합시다. (1테살 5,6)

주님이 말씀하신다. 나는 재앙이 아니라 평화를 주노라. 나를 부르면 너희 기도를 들어 주고, 사로잡힌 너희를 모든 곳에서 데려오리라. (예레 29,11.12.14 참조)

주 하느님, 저희를 도와주시어 언제나 모든 선의 근원이신 주님을 기쁜 마음으로 섬기며 완전하고 영원한 행복을 누리게 하소서.

저희가 오롯이 주님을 사랑하며 살다가 영원한 생명을 얻게 하소서.

저희가 언제나 주님의 사랑을 실천하게 하소서.

여기서 누가 더 받고 누가 덜 받았는지는 중요하지 않습니다. 오늘 복음의 비유는 누구의 능력이 더 큰지가 아니라 각자 받은 탈렌트를 어떻게 사용하였는지를 강조합니다. 따라서 탈렌트 양의 차이는 문제가 아닙니다.

하느님께서 우리에게 주신 탈렌트, 곧 재능은 감추어 두거나 숨겨 두는 것이 아니라 잘 활용해야 하는 것입니다. 이렇게 재능을 받은 이들이 그 재능을 세상에서 활용함으로써 하늘 나라는 풍성해집니다. 작은 일에 성실한 종에게는 이제 더 큰 일이 맡겨집니다. 

‘성실하다.’라는 표현은 믿음과도 연결됩니다. 우리의 믿음은 하느님께서 성실하신 분이시라는 것에 바탕을 두고, 우리가 하느님을 믿는다는 것은 곧 하느님의 말씀과 가르침을 성실하게 따른다는 것을 뜻합니다. 그러므로 성실함은 하느님과 신앙인의 관계를 나타내는 특징이기도 합니다. 하느님께서 우리에게 맡기신 것에 성실하다는 것은 하느님께 받은 재능을 통하여 하느님의 현존이 드러나게 하는 것입니다. 그 재능을 자신만을 위하여 사용하는 것은 탈렌트를 땅에 숨겨 두는 것과 같습니다. 많고 적음을 떠나 그것을 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 곰곰이 생각해야 합니다.

하느님, 게으른 제 자신을 봅니다. 맡은 일은 하고 있지만, 거기서 더 나아가는 일에는 꾸물거리거나 막상 닥쳐서 하는 게 많습니다. 차분히 준비하며 작은 일에도 성실하게 임하는 사람 되겠습니다.
